Let’s talk about creating your Self-Care Squad.
Positive relationships are central to our well-being. In positive psychology, our connections have significant ties to our happiness. You can also see these findings in one of the founders of positive psychology, Dr. Martin Seligman’s well-being theory.
One positive intervention that our host, Dr. Kortni Alston, recommends during her training sessions is creating a Self-Care Squad.
This episode will meet Rachel Mann and Jeanette Jordan, two of Dr. Kortni's Self-Care Squad members.
Rachel is a public relations and communication professional with a career that spans almost two decades. Currently, she serves as Communication Program Manager in the Public Division of the Service of Employee International Union, one of the largest unions in the United States. Rachel has worked as a communications expert in higher education and corporate America.
Jeanette is a strategic business consultant and executive coach with a decade of experience working in the technology industry. She helps leaders define their strategies and tell their stories. Jeanette has rebranded or repositioned several companies, including Verizon, PayPal, and Factual.
“I’m so grateful to call Rachel and Jeanette friends. These women will inspire, empower, and enlighten you on the importance of boundaries, burnout, and blessings. As a happiness scholar, my self-care squad has increased my well-being and happiness levels. They helped me get through the loss of my beloved mother and the demands of a rigorous Ph.D. program at the University of Florida. I treasure them,” says Dr. Kortni
